🥖5 Tips to Level Up your Pantry Game🥖

By Alexa Spiroff

Got a pantry? Got food? Need help rearranging everything inside it? Here’s five easy tips for a more organized pantry!

(1) Group By Category

Clutter in a pantry can be overwhelming, whether it’s to gather ingredients to make dinner or get a late-night snack. The main key to start reorganizing it is to think of your pantry as a little grocery store. Each shelf should have a similar grouping or themes to put everything together. For example, keep your baking items together, as well as canned goods with and grains with other grains. It’ll keep you from misplacing items and not accidentally ending up with 3 bags of flour.

*Tip* Some items, like canned goods or small snacks from buying bulk can be stacked! Take advantage of this when putting stuff on racks or into bins.

(2) Use Clear Containers

Investing in airtight, clear containers can make a huge difference in your kitchen. Whether its glass or plastic, they will keep your food fresher for longer periods of time and create a neat uniform look on your pantry shelves. You will also know right away when your food items are running low.

(3) Labeling

Labels are a small detail that will make a big impact! Whether you use a label maker, blank stickers or a simple sharpie and tape, labeling your containers and shelves will keep everyone in the household on the same page. No need to wonder where all those cookies and granola bars disappear to.

(4) Maximize Space

Pantries come in all shapes and sizes, but a lot of people don’t take advantage of every nook and cranny on the shelves. Due to that, vertical space ends up underutilized. Consider adding tiered shelving for canned goods, stackable bins or a door organizer for spices and condiments. You will make things more accessible and use every amount of space more conveniently.

(5) Rotate and Declutter Regularly

Try practicing the “first in, first out” method: Put newer items you purchase behind older ones so nothing goes to waste. (You will be prioritizing the older stuff first instead of unnecessarily opening brand-new items.) Every couple of months, do an inventory check, toss anything expired and donate unopened extras you won’t use. This habit will keep your pantry fresh and that ensures you’re using the food you’ve stocked up on.

With a little extra thought, your pantry can become a space that feels calm and efficient for the whole house. Remember that a well-organized one doesn’t just look beautiful; it saves time, money, and stress. This way, you’ll be able to enjoy cooking a lot more and share meals with the people you love.
